Las Vegas is the most populous city in the state of Nevada and is known as The Entertainment Capital of the World, famous for its mega casino–hotels and associated entertainment. Las Vegas is the 30th-most populous city in the United States.
The city is one of the top three leading destinations in the United States for conventions, business, and meetings and is one of the wealthiest major cities in the country and is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
The major attractions in Las Vegas are the casinos and the hotels. Most casinos in the downtown area are located on Fremont Street. The center of the gambling and entertainment industry, however, is located on the Las Vegas Strip, outside the city limits in the surrounding unincorporated communities of Paradise and Winchester in Clark County. The largest and most notable casinos and buildings are located there.

- Caesars Palace is a luxury hotel and casino which includes The Forum Shops, the highest grossing mall in the United States, with higher sales per square foot than Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California.
- The Bellagio famed for its elegance and the lake between the building and the Strip, which houses the Fountains of Bellagio, a large dancing water fountain synchronized to music.
- New York-New York includes several towers configured to resemble New York City towers and skyline.
