- Montelbaans Tower, built in 1516 as part of the Walls of Amsterdam for the purpose of defending the city and the harbour.
- Bloemenmarkt, Amsterdam’s famous floating Flower Market.
- De Wallen the largest and best known red-light district in Amsterdam.
- Rijksmuseum, a Dutch national museum dedicated to arts and history in Amsterdam.
- The National Maritime Museum, containing a replica of the Amsterdam, an 18th-century ship which sailed between the Netherlands and the East Indies.
- Van Gogh Museum, dedicated to the works of Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries.
- Rembrandt House Museum, a historic house and art museum where Rembrandt lived and painted for a number of years.
- The Royal Concertgebouw, a concert hall in Amsterdam. Because of its highly regarded acoustics, it's considered one of the finest concert halls in the world.
Only a 15-minute train ride from Amsterdam, visit the beautiful city of Haarlem, one of the most populated metropolitan areas in Europe.
About 20 km north from Amsterdam visit Zaanse Schans Windmills, one of the popular tourist attractions of the Netherlands.
