Budapest is the capital and the largest city of the Hungary. It is one of the largest cities in the European Union. Budapest had 1.74 million inhabitants in 2011.

Connecting the two parts of the city is the famous Chain Bridge. It was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, and was opened in 1849.
